How Does Chlamydia Affect Fertility

This can lead to a decrease in the number of eggs that are released from the ovaries and an increase in the number of ectopic pregnancies. Ectopic pregnancies are pregnancies that occur outside of the uterus, usually in the fallopian tubes. They are a major cause of maternal death. Chlamydia can also cause infertility.
