Progesterone Cream Fertility
If you are trying to conceive, you may have heard about progesterone cream and its potential fertility benefits. Progesterone cream is a natural hormone that is often recommended to help improve fertility. Progesterone is produced by the ovaries and helps to prepare the uterine lining for implantation of a fertilized egg. Low progesterone levels can sometimes lead to infertility.
Progesterone cream can be used to increase progesterone levels when they are low. It can be applied to the skin, either on the stomach or inner thighs. Progesterone cream is available over-the-counter and can be purchased at most pharmacies.
If you are trying to conceive, you may want to ask your doctor about using progesterone cream to help improve your fertility.
Fertility Men
and Women are both born with a finite number of eggs. Once these eggs are gone, the ability to conceive naturally is gone as well. For women, this happens around age 51. For men, this happens around age 74. So, if you are trying to conceive and are over the age of 51 or over the age of 74, you will need to use assisted reproductive technologies (ART) in order to have a child.
There are three main types of ART: 1) In-vitro fertilization (IVF) – This is the most common type of ART. Eggs are removed from the woman’s body and fertilized with sperm in a lab. The fertilized eggs are then placed back in the woman’s uterus to grow and develop. 2) Intrauterine insemination (IUI) – This is a procedure in which sperm is injected directly into the woman’s uterus. This is often used when there is a problem with the sperm’s ability to swim or when the woman’s cervical mucus is not favorable for sperm. 3) Gamete intrafallopian transfer (GIFT) – This is a procedure in which eggs and sperm are placed in the woman’s fallopian tubes where they can fertilize and implant naturally.
If you are over the age of 51 or over the age of 74 and are trying to conceive, you should speak with your doctor about which ART procedure is best for you.
