Cervix Open During Early Pregnancy

A woman’s cervix begins to open and soften during early pregnancy. This is a normal process that helps the baby to move through the birth canal during labor. However, in some cases the cervix may open too early, which can lead to a miscarriage.

There are several things that can cause the cervix to open prematurely, including:

-Having multiple pregnancies

-Smoking

-Having a history of premature birth

-Having a history of cervical insufficiency

-Being older than 35

If you are concerned that your cervix may be opening prematurely, talk to your doctor. He or she may be able to prescribe medications or other treatments to help keep the cervix closed.

No Cervical Mucus Early Pregnancy

There is no cervical mucus early pregnancy because the body has not yet begun to produce the clear, slippery mucus that is associated with ovulation. When a woman is not pregnant, her body produces cervical mucus in order to help sperm move through the reproductive system and reach the egg. However, during early pregnancy, the body does not produce this mucus because the hormone levels are still too low. This can be a common early sign of pregnancy.
