Discharge Pregnancy
When a woman becomes pregnant, her body starts to produce a hormone called progesterone. Progesterone helps prepare the body for the baby by making the lining of the uterus thick and smooth. Progesterone also helps keep the baby in the uterus. If the baby is not born, the progesterone levels drop and the lining of the uterus is shed (this is called menstruation).
Most of the time, the body knows when it is time to end the pregnancy. About two weeks before the baby is due, the body starts to produce a hormone called oxytocin. Oxytocin causes the uterus to contract and push the baby out. This is called labor.
The baby is born and the umbilical cord is cut. The baby starts to breathe air and the placenta is delivered. The placenta is the organ that attached the baby to the mother’s uterus and provided the baby with food and oxygen.
Is It Normal To Have Watery Discharge During Pregnancy
Yes, it is normal to have watery discharge during pregnancy. This is caused by the increase in estrogen and other hormones in your body during pregnancy. The discharge is typically clear or white and has a mild odor. It is important to keep your genital area clean and dry to help prevent infection. You can use a mild soap and water or a commercially available cleanser. If the discharge increases in amount or changes in color, odor or consistency, you should contact your healthcare provider.
Can Yellow Discharge Be A Sign Of Pregnancy
Yes, yellow discharge can be a sign of pregnancy, as well as other conditions. When pregnant, the body produces a thicker than normal discharge to help protect the uterus from infection. The discharge may be yellow, white, or clear, and may have a mild odor. If you are pregnant and experience yellow discharge, you should consult with your doctor. Other causes of yellow discharge include sexually transmitted infections, pelvic inflammatory disease, and vaginal infection. If you are experiencing other symptoms, such as pain or a burning sensation when you urinate, you should see a doctor right away.
Can I Have Discharge In Early Pregnancy
Yes, it is possible to have discharge in early pregnancy. This is due to the increase in estrogen levels in your body at this time. Increased estrogen levels can cause the cervical mucus to become thinner and more watery, which can lead to an increase in vaginal discharge.
While an increase in vaginal discharge is common in early pregnancy, it is important to monitor the amount and type of discharge you are experiencing. If you notice any changes in the amount or type of discharge, or if you experience any other symptoms, such as itching, burning, or odor, be sure to consult with your healthcare provider.
