How Many Dpo Do Pregnancy Symptoms Start?
Most pregnant women experience some type of pregnancy symptoms between 6 and 10 days post ovulation (DPO). Common early signs of pregnancy include frequent urination, fatigue, tender breasts, nausea, and food cravings.
Common Early Pregnancy Symptoms
Here is a list of the most common early pregnancy symptoms:
- Frequent Urination
- Tiredness and Fatigue
- Light Nausea, often called “morning sickness”
- Increased Vaginal Discharge
- Cravings or Aversions to Certain Foods
- Mood Swings
- Sensitivities to Smells and Odors
- Heightened Sense of Taste
- Tender Breasts
- Bloating
- Backaches
- Headaches
- Darker Areolas
- Elevated Basal Body Temperature
Timing of Pregnancy Symptoms
The timing of the onset of pregnancy symptoms varies for each woman and pregnancy, but some common patterns can be seen:
- Frequent urination, tiredness, nausea, and food cravings are often experienced 6 to 10 DPO.
- Mood swings, increased vaginal discharge, sensitivities to smells, and darker areolas often appear 8 to 10 DPO.
- Bloating and backaches are often experienced 9 to 12 DPO.
- Tender breasts, headaches and elevated basal body temperature usually appear 10 to 18 DPO.
When to Take a Pregnancy Test
Most home pregnancy tests are not effective until after a missed period, so it is best to wait until at least 10 days past ovulation (DPO) to test. Some pregnancy tests may be sensitive enough to detect very low levels of the pregnancy hormone, first thing in the morning, on the day of the missed period.
It is important to remember that the timing of pregnancy symptoms can vary for each woman, so just because you don’t experience any symptoms doesn’t mean you aren’t pregnant!
The only way to know for sure is to take a pregnancy test.
How early can pregnancy symptoms start?
Pregnancy symptoms vary from person to person, but a missed period or other signs of pregnancy can often begin as early as two weeks after conception. While some women may experience symptoms such as fatigue, breast tenderness or nausea, many women won’t experience any noticeable changes until closer to their expected period date.
When do most pregnancy symptoms appear?
Most pregnancy symptoms will begin to appear within the first trimester, usually within the first few weeks of a missed period. Common symptoms of early pregnancy include fatigue, sore breasts, nausea, frequent urination and food cravings. Later in the pregnancy, women may experience more noticeable changes such as an increase in vaginal discharge and Braxton-Hicks contractions.
