Empty Sac Pregnancy Symptoms
Most people who are pregnant experience some symptoms that let them know they are with child. However, there are some women who experience what is called an empty sac pregnancy. An empty sac pregnancy is a pregnancy in which the woman has all the typical symptoms of pregnancy but when she goes for her ultrasound, there is no baby inside the uterus.
There are a few reasons why an empty sac pregnancy can happen. In some cases, the embryo may have died very early on in the pregnancy and the body has not yet expelled it. In other cases, the embryo may have been miscarried but the body has not yet expelled it. And, finally, in some cases the embryo may have been aborted and the body has not yet expelled it.
If you are experiencing all the symptoms of pregnancy but an ultrasound shows that there is no baby inside the uterus, you may be experiencing an empty sac pregnancy. Unfortunately, there is not much that can be done to treat an empty sac pregnancy. In most cases, the body will eventually expel the embryo on its own. However, in some cases, a D&C may be necessary to remove the embryo.
